About EDV

EDV is committed to affecting permanent change in disaster affected communities worldwide. We see our role as making personal connections between volunteers and the survivors of disasters half a world away. If you can't go to them, you can participate by helping us at home. With EDV you can commit whatever it is you have to give - be it a few days out of the month at home, a few Euros, or your work on deployment - directly to those who need it most.

With this attitude in mind we’ll never charge you to volunteer because we believe the work you’re capable of doing is just as valuable as your money.

That said, no organisation can run without funding. If volunteers or their friends and families would like to contribute financially we encourage them to do so. Anyone interested in donating should visit our donate page. All donations will directly support our programmes. If you’re interested in volunteering abroad or at home see our volunteer page.

EDV is based on a proven model developed by several landmark organisations that have paved the way for citizens to become disaster volunteers. So before moving on to the details of our story we’d like to extend a warm welcome to the Tsunami Volunteer Center (TVC), Hands on Disaster Response, (HODR), and Burners without Borders, (BWB).
